Helpful Tips …
- Sliding Gates -The drive
chain will stretch over time. It is important to keep the chain
properly lubricated and that you call for service when it starts to
sag.
- Gate Tracks - Photo Beams
and Sensing Edges all need to be kept clear of debris such as
gravel, rocks, leaves, overgrown plants etc. The gate’s safety
features may sense resistance and stop the gate from opening or
closing. It is also important to test the sensing device on Sensing
Edges just as you would test the battery in your smoke detector on a
regular basis.
- Transmitters - Gate
transmitters sometimes get stuck with the open button pressed. This
will result in the gate remaining open because the gate is receiving
a constant open command. Be mindful of where you keep your
transmitter.
- Power Failure - Be sure to
know how to manually open your gate during a power failure. Newer
models have a release or a crank, and many models have a battery
power backup unit. Remember, it’s not a question of if, it’s a
question of when you will have a power failure.
- Emergencies - If you have an
automatic gate, make sure you have an Emergency Entry Key Switch
installed which allows emergency vehicles to enter to your property.
